Webs - America's Yarn Store

I made the trip to Webs last weekend!  The New York City Crochet Guild was nice enough to let me join on their bus for the ride.

I don't have much to say about Webs except that it was everything I had hoped, and the employees were very friendly and helpful.  I saw basically everything they have available online, and it was nice to have the opportunity to touch it and actually see the colors in person.  The store is very well organized and had the capacity to manage 3 full buses of shoppers the morning I was there, without too much chaos.

One thing that I think sets Webs apart from most yarn stores is the variety of products they carry.  Yarns range from more affordable acrylic and blends up to the nicest cashmere and hand dyed yarns.  They also carry a lot of coned yarn and tools for weavers.  They have a nice selection of roving and other supplies for spinners as well, including a nice variety of spinning wheels.  They have all kinds of Knitter's Pride needles and accessories, which are my favorite.

If you ever do make the trip to Northampton, I suggest you also stop by their lovely LYS Northampton Wools, which is a short walk away.  The staff there is also very sweet.  I didn't meet an unfriendly person anywhere in Northampton.  Also, the downtown is very cute and old-timey.

I picked up this cute organic cotton fabric from Beehive Sewing, which is located right between Webs and Northampton Wools.
