Exploration Station

I am finally going to make an exploration station! I say finally because I've been admiring everyone else's for well over a year. A coupon code shared by a friend was the unintended, but needed push that led to my purchase of the pattern. I'm very excited to get started on this and it seems like the nature of this pattern will really cater to my schizophrenic tendencies since it keeps changing colors and textures throughout. For those of you who don't know about this shawl, here's the pattern.

I'm going to use the Madelinetosh Merino Light as it calls for and I'm really excited about my colors. I'm using the Pop Rocks I got during last year's yarn crawl, Cosmic Wonder Dust from Craftsy, and the last two colors I picked up today at Annie & Co., which are Raspberry Cordial and Maple Leaf. Check it out!

This will be my first time using brioche, which is one of the few techniques I have literally no clue about at this point.

I can't wait to get started and to wear this piece, especially since it's such a conversation starter. One of the girls working at Annie & Co. had just made one and showed me the lovely pictures on her phone. Another employee there advised me on the edge stitches. It's great how many people are familiar with this pattern, but yet no two shawls look too alike.  Here are a few of my favorites from Ravelry.

Happy knitting!
